Over the past year, Addmotor has released several e-trikes that fit various needs and use cases. With no sign of stopping, Addmotor has released a new model: LANDTAN Fat Tire Electric Trike.

What’s great about this model is that it’s all about simplicity and performance. The LANDTAN is great for riding on light to medium off-road paths. The fat tires guarantee to keep things comfortable and stable through any challenging surfaces.

But apart from the all-terrain capabilities, the LANDTAN also provides the best value for money. It has stripped out all unnecessary and gimmicky features with only the essentials covered.

So essentially, the LANDTAN is great for tinkerers and minimalists. It doesn’t have all the bells and features of previous high-end models. On the flip side, it’s lightweight and allows riders to customize things as they need.

So let’s talk more about the Addmotor LANDTAN and how it can be your next best electric tricycle.

Key Features of the LANDTAN Fat Tire Electric Trike

The LANDTAN is priced fairly low compared to the heavy hitters. For instance, the LANDTAN isn’t as equipped as other Addmotor electric bikes like the GRANDTAN or ARISETANThat said, it does have a set of new features. For starters, the LANDTAN is the first 3-wheel electric bike to debut with Addmotor's hollow saddle.

This new saddle design features a unique design. This seat has two spring shock absorbers connected between the seat tube and saddle. These shock absorbers ensure you can ride longer and more comfortably. They absorb shocks and vibrations from the road and are particularly effective against sudden impacts.

So whether you're cruising around town or adventuring off the beaten path, this saddle will keep you comfy and relaxed. In turn, it will make you love the LANDTAN fat tire electric trike and keep riding for longer.

But the revolutionary new saddle is just the beginning. The LANDAN also offers unique perks such as:

- 710mm Wide U-Shaped Handlebars: The LANDTAN's wide handlebar enhances stability and handling. The design encourages better riding posture. It also helps minimize stiffness and strain on your wrists and shoulders.
- Addshox Suspension: The LANDTAN comes with a rebound adjust and lock-out front fork suspension. This Addshox suspension provides better control on different terrains. From slick city streets to stubborn off-road paths, this will reduce slipping, bumps and discomfort.
- 48V/15Ah Lithium Battery: The LANDTAN comes with a new battery enclosure that’s compact but offers up to 65 miles of range on a single charge. Unlike the regular 20Ah battery, this one is more lightweight and efficient. It’s also stealthy since the battery is hidden under the rear rack.
- 20x4" Fat Tires: The LANDTAN features fat tires designed for all-terrain riding. These fat tires are crucial since they provide a strong base and prevent the trike from falling over. Besides, these are all-terrain capable, giving you the freedom to go off road with full confidence.
- 15.6" Standover Height: With a low standover height, the LANDTAN is easy to mount and dismount. It’s great for seniors and people with limited mobility since they don’t have to exert themselves too much when trying to get on.
- Under $2,000 Price Tag: The LANDTAN provides the best bang for your buck. It’s one of the few sturdy e-trikes with a price under $2,000 (Early Bird Sale).

Addmotor’s LANDTAN Fat Tire Electric Trike: Ideal Riders and Use Cases

The LANDTAN, with its familiar frame and minimal components, is a unique case. That said, you might already picture yourself being right at home with this 3-wheel electric bike.

But, in case you need more convincing, don’t worry. Here are some use cases and rider profiles to help you get a better idea:

- Fitness Buffs: The LANDTAN is great for adults who prioritize physical fitness. It’s more responsive than heavier trikes and light enough to ride at higher speeds. Also, you can take it offroad guilt-free.

- Commuters and Students: The LANDTAN is affordable and low-maintenance. It’s great for students and commuters who want to ride in the city without spending a fortune.
- OffRoad Bikers: The LANDTAN doesn’t mind a little mud, dust or grime. Besides, it doesn’t have fragile components that can malfunction from a little water or dust. So this Addmotor electric trike is great for handling off road trails.
- Everyday Riders: Apart from the above special use cases, any regular adult can easily ride the LANDTAN. Because of the lack of features, you can customize the frame and include other accessories. Besides, it’s built for more rugged use so you don’t have to worry about keeping it clean all the time.

Riding Experience: Comfort on Various Terrains

Despite lacking a few luxuries, the Addmotor LANDTAN fat tire electric trike doesn’t compromise on the riding experience. In some cases, this 3-wheel electric bike enhances it.

Hollow Shock Absorber Saddle VS Backrest

For instance, the spring-absorbed saddle does a great job of cushioning sudden jolts and impacts. It’s also hollow inside, meaning the saddle compresses inwards without transferring any force onto the rider.

That being said, the LANDTAN does not include an adjustable backrest. Addmotor has taken out the backrest in favor of keeping things lightweight and affordable.

So riders coming from the GRANDTAN lineup might find this a little uncomfortable. That said, it doesn’t take too long to get used to.

Also, the LANDTAN has a slight backward tilt in the seat tube. This is intentional as it helps riders stay in an upright position without too much back support.

General Ease of Use

The LANDTAN shares the common swan-inspired step-through frame of the GRANDTAN and previous models. As such, this fat tire electric trike is no problem for seniors to get in and ride.

Besides that, the handlebar reach is about 1.34”. It’s not great for children but good enough for most adults.

Also, the LANDTAN is designed with somewhat shorter riders in mind. Its recommended height range is 5’1”-5’9”. This makes it great for short female riders and anybody under 6”.

All good things aside though, the LANDTAN does not come with a footrest. So it won’t provide the most luxurious experience when riding the throttle.

Battery Life and Motor Power

The LANDTAN comes with the newer Addmotor battery. It’s got a more sleek and stealthy enclosure and redesigned specs. Now, it’s a 48V*15Ah battery that can provide 65+ miles of range on a single charge.

The new battery enclosure fits on the underside of the rear rack. It also houses the brake lights and connects flawlessly with the rest of the EB 2.0 system.

The motor is the same 750W rear-mounted one you can find in the GRANDTAN and other Addmotor electric bikes. The motor connects to the rear differential, which then provides the right amount of power to each wheel.

The motor has 1,400W of peak power and 90Nm of maximum torque. It’s good enough for climbing hills at full throttle and also accelerating to full speed in less than 5-10 seconds.

Comparing the LANDTAN With Other Addmotor Electric Trikes

The LANDTAN has many unique features compared to other Addmotor trikes out there. Since this is more of a budget-conscious option, the LANDTAN has dispensed with things like:

- Rear Cargo Bags

- Backrest
- Footboard
- Fenders
- Rear Suspension
- Passenger Seats
- Foldable frame

But getting rid of these features has offered certain benefits. For instance, the low price tag.

Unlike the GRANDTAN or GREATTAN big wheel trike models, it doesn’t cost upwards of $2,000. This makes it almost comparable to the Addmotor CITYTRI.

So if you want a no-nonsense yet future-proof eTrike at a reasonable price, the LANDTAN should be right up your alley. It runs just as well as a high-end GRANDTAN step-through electric trike but costs less than the CITYTRI trike and won’t break the bank.

Wrapping Up

The LANDTAN is Addmotor's newest eTrike. But, unlike its predecessors, the LANDTAN takes a few steps back in the “unnecessary features” department.

However, it more than makes up for it with the more entry-level price tag and simplified features. The performance aspects and riding experience are still comparable to that of a high-end GRANDTAN II. Also, this one is more ready to tackle off-road terrain thanks to the 4-inch fat tires and robust frame.

So if you’re looking for a fat tire electric trike that’s easy on the bank account but just as powerful, look no further. The LANDTAN might be the one for you.
